French Translator Dictionary + App Reviews

I am learning French and this app is indispensable for not only finding the words quickly, but hearing pronunciation as well. One of the best apps ever for language learning!

I love this dictionary app. Not only can I skip carrying around a big dictionary when I go to France, I can learn phrases (helping me understand syntax) and practice my vocabulary. I recommend this app!

Simple to use, this app is great for everyday use. While not totally comprehensive, the vocabulary is large enough to meet basic needs.

I learned French, but my skills are rusty, so I got this to help while travelling. But all of the words I need (usually food vocabulary, and not that esoteric) are only available via the paid version. Deleting, as it has nothing I can use.

A decent app, functions properly. However I found it somewhat limited in its breadth of vocabulary. Im routinely not finding straightforward words, like "feindre" (to feign), and others, lately. Also, the app does not account for short multiple word phrases, except in some cases where it may be buried as an example of a main word. Overall though, good enough for beginners.

Obviously it is a dictionary and for that I purchased it. But the more I used it the more I found it can do. 1.) I use it all the time for Gender. 2.) It is great for conjugating verbs. 3.) Most beneficial of all I can use it without any cellular/wi-fi connection. Bonjour! À la prochaine! I would add audio is invaluable.

This app is very well done. Whether it is a word in French that I need help understanding, or a word in English for which I need a good French equivalent, or verb conjugations -- its easy to find.

Often the words I have wanted arent in it

This app is the most helpful world language app I have ever came across. I take French and if I need to find a word I dont know, I can look it up, and in less than three seconds, boom, I got it. Its very helpful and I like how it has tons of helpful words that will help me get an easy A in my French class! I approve!

Lots of common words are missing, and the blending together of both English and French words in a single list of words in alphabetical order is at times confusing. Anyone with a more than rudimentary knowledge of French will be frustrated.

Missing very common words. No phrases such as "time zone." I deleted this as it is useless.

Ive been learning French for few months and I wanna improve it to a higher level by reading lot of articles. Its easy and fast to get the translations between English and French. Especially they provide a few examples to show how to use the words which is really practical. AND ITS FREE!

This app is just wonderful, but recently it stopped pronouncing words. I contacted the developer, and they responded immediately. Apparently Google changed something without notifying them, and that caused the problem. This is how to fix this issue on an iPhone: Tap the speaker icon at the top right of any dictionary word screen and turn off the switch for "Use better quality online voices when available." Then make sure the volume is turned up and try again. This totally solved the problem.

I loved this app because it has a lot of words, phrases, and verbs with their conjugations. However the main reason I loved this app was because they had high quality pronunciations of the words, phrases, verbs with all of their configurations. They no longer have their high quality pronunciations and only have terrible pronunciations that do not help to teach the correct pronunciation what so ever. the developers have not figured out how to fix this because they were using google text to speech and Google doesnt allow public use anymore and I guess the developers of this app dont want to pay for the service from Google and cant create their own. Also I have been let down by this app because they were rather rude and not helpful when I asked about this. Dont pay for the paid version of this app. Its a waste because the quality of this app has been degraded drastically. Solve the high quality text to speech problem, my gosh this is ridiculous. Sad, this app was so good until they go rid of the high quality pronunciations. I cant wait until some better developers (that are not rude to their paying customers) fill the void and create a better French dictionary with actual high quality text to speech pronunciations so people can actually learn how to say words, phrases, and verbs........no wonder this developer was fishing for reviews on their blog post about the high quality text to speech issue. They cant fix this basic problem and they are rude their paying users.

Its great for that its free. It doesnt have every word that I have needed but it has been extremely helpful.

I am currently in Paris and using this app a lot. While I know a little French this app helps me to remember more. I have yet to not find a word I needed.

The most amazingly complete and accurate language app available.

App hasnt worked in months. No sound on the pronounce feature. Paid for upgraded version, ...now wasted.

I use this app especially when conjugating verbs for my French class. It is a very clear and easy to understand app.
