I find this dictionary is very well structured.

At first, I really liked this quick little dictionary, but after spending a few months in France, I have found that every time I need to look up a word in French it isnt in the dictionary. I can sometimes find the word Im looking for by searching for it in English, but not all the time. Im getting a different app because Im starting to get a little frustrated with not being able to find words I am looking for. Overall, its good English to French, but French to English is not as strong.

This app really helps me with my French homework. I love the pronunciation and the extensive verb conjugations.

I got this dictionary because the e-book I was reading took place in France and had a lot of untranslated phrases. When I used this dictionary, I found that it had almost none of the phrases or translated words that I need translated. Cant recommend this app.

I thought it would let me hear the pronunciation but unfortunately it didnt. Never work since I downloaded it. Please fix it asap.

I cant wait until they do Catalan! Easy to use. Every entry has not just different definitions (brief but precise and easy to see on an iPhone) but also examples of common usages. Really marvelous how much theyve fit onto a screen.

Its garbage for pronunciation, which is what I was most interested in. Im not even talking about the bug where you have to flip the high quality voice switch off for it to work. My main problem is the tempo. They give you the option to slow down the pronunciation files (which is really nice) but even at the slowest speed, its way too fast (extremely frustrating). The English pronunciation files also play very fast when set to the slowest speed. I speak 3 langs beyond college level and was still frustrated and disappointed with this App. I gave it 3 stars because its free, the dict is decent and the content and sections are good (of course, the dict could have more entries!). If this was Japanese/Spanish/Italian etc, where the pronunciations are simple this app would fly; unfortunately, you just cannot get a critical part (pronunciation)of this language wrong when developing/producing an app for it. Fatal error... I uninstalled.

This app has proven itself to be very useful. It has a dictionary with many interesting idiomatic terms, menu items and such. There is also a phrase book and verb conjugator which are quite handy. I had a problem with sound but I emailed support and they gave me a fix. Just need to tap on the speaker icon and switch the voice setting. All is good now. Highly recommend this app for French learners.

I am in beginning French and I tried to look up (for example) the word "sentier" (path) which is not in this free dictionary. I then got an annoying message saying the word is in the paid version. Whats the point of thinking you have a free basic French-English dictionary when it doesnt have the most basic words??

Really handy for finding the occasional translation for my daughter whos learning French. Lacks some kid vocabulary, like "stickers", but we still use it several times a week. Great for a free app.

Any time I need to quickly find a word I dont know, I can rely on this excellent app to be there for me. Theres even examples for almost every word which are extremely helpful. Love this app.

Never studied French but have found this an invaluable resource in my early attempts at learning.

Offline capabilities were very useful when I went to France; it even does offline conjugation!

1. Focus on the input field when the app starts; 2. Stop capitalizing the first letter when the input field is focused.

The "free" version of the app just doesnt have a comprehensive enough dictionary. I tried to use it while reading a French novel, and 2 out of every 3 words I looked up werent in the free dictionary. The most common words are, but then, those arent the words you look up, are they? Weird interface as well - when you look up a word, it gives you possible matches in both languages - why? Surely you only want to see French when youre looking up a French word?
